As a re-accredited UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting school, at Wingate Primary School we aim to provide a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere in which children feel secure and valued.

We place a great emphasis on promoting the Rights of the Child and encourage children to respect the rights of others. Our school has a happy and friendly atmosphere in which honesty, courtesy and consideration for others can flourish along with a high priority on ensuring that all children receive an education suited to their individual needs.

Getting Ready – Growing Independence!
Can your child independently:
• Put on / take off their coat and shoes?
• Get dressed with little help, e.g. after using the toilet or doing PE?
Mastering simple skills build confidence and make school feel less overwhelming.
This week, practise getting dressed together – turning clothes the right way round is a great challenge!

They spent the morning looking at animal skulls and thinking about the types of things that animals might eat. The children were very well behaved and engaged well with the session. We may have a few budding scientists in our midst! 🧬 🧪

Wingate Primary School

Photos from Wingate Primary School's post Year 4 spent the day making focaccia bread as part of their Design and Technology lessons. They made the dough from scratch, practised their kneading skills and carefully used their chopping skills to prepare and add the flavours of their choice. Once the bread was baked, everyone enjoyed tasting their creations and evaluating the finished product, reflecting on what worked well and what they might do differently next time. 🍞
